- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- The aim is to learn the basic terminology, theory and principles of HVAC systems design.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to use terminology and theory for practical HVAC design. He will be able to apply the principles and knowledge for HVAC design.
- Syllabus
- 1. Microclimate of buildings, calculation of heat losses. 2. Heating systems - basic element distribution. 3. Radiators, piping, fittings, security devices. 4. Heat sources for heating, gas appliances, hot water preparation. 5. Boiler rooms and transfer stations. 6. Renewable energy sources for heating. 7. The importance of ventilation, natural ventilation. 8. Air flow, forced ventilation. Thermal balance. 9. Air-conditioning plant and space requirements of HVAC. 10. Noise in ventilation, heat recovery 11. Climate systems and cooling. Application of systems. 12. Modern air-conditioning systems of buildings (direct cooling). 13.Heating and ventilation in sustainable construction.

- During the semester, a semester work will be prepared for which a maximum of 30 points can be obtained. Overall classification of the course, ie points for the written exam (70 - 0) + points from the continuous assessment (30 - 0): A 100 - 90, B 89.99 - 84, C 83.99 - 77, D 76.99 - 73, E 72.99 - 70, FX 69.99 - 30, F 29.99 - 0.

- Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). It is compulsory, except of the lectures, for full-time students to attend 70 % lesson of the subjet in a semester.
