The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
Geotechnics, foundation and underground engineering is to provide students with basic knowledge about the physical properties of soils as a three-phase discrete environment, especially their bearing capacity and compressibility. It is to inform about the possibilities and ways in which to safely establish buildings.
Learning outcomes
Students gained basic knowledge of physical properties of soil as three-phase discrete environment, especially their bearing capacity and compressibility. They are informed about the possibilities and ways to securely build the building objects.
Syllabus
  • 1. Genesis of soils, the mineralogical composition and physical structure. Particle size classification of soils, line, texture, triangular diagram 2. Water in soils and their properties also affect the behavior of soils. Some physical properties of the soil (soil consistency, density, bulk density, bulk density, porosity and void ratio). SUMMARY cohesive soils. Capillarity in soils. 3. Mechanical stress in soils. Tensions efficient, complete and neutral. Consolidation of soils. Compressibility of soil. 4. Criteria for breach of soils, especially Mohr-Coulomb criterion for a breach of the shear. 5. Link between shear stress in discrete environments, and pore pressure, dilation and kontraktance. Pore pressure as one of the starting points to the emergence of the current pressure. Flowing sands. 6th Stress in soils under biaxial stress state. 7. Any other business models and ideas about the ultimate foundation soil; the principle of ultimate load. 8. Side pressures loose materials (especially earth), according to Rankin. Terzaghi-ho respectively. Mueller-Breslau-UV attempt. Active pressure and passive resistance of soil. 9th Static pressure earth. "Resilient" pressures earth. Ensuring excavations. 10. Principles investigation of slope stability. (Felleniova, Petterssonova and Bishop method in outline). 11. Allocation kinds of bases on local, line and area. Piles, micro piles, wells. Milan wall. 12. Approximate solution footing and grates. 13th Approximate solution baseboards and the principle of dealing pilot "propped against" and "floating".
