Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
Geotechnics, foundation and underground engineering is to provide students with basic knowledge about the physical properties of soils as a three-phase discrete environment, especially their bearing capacity and compressibility. It is to inform about the possibilities and ways in which to safely establish buildings.
Syllabus
  • 1. Genesis of soils, the mineralogical composition and physical structure. Particle size classification of soils, line, texture, triangular diagram 2. Water in soils and their properties also affect the behavior of soils. Some physical properties of the soil (soil consistency, density, bulk density, bulk density, porosity and void ratio). SUMMARY cohesive soils. Capillarity in soils. 3. Mechanical stress in soils. Tensions efficient, complete and neutral. Consolidation of soils. Compressibility of soil. 4. Criteria for breach of soils, especially Mohr-Coulomb criterion for a breach of the shear. 5. Link between shear stress in discrete environments, and pore pressure, dilation and kontraktance.
