Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the subject of psychology through psychological processes, psychological approaches, research methods, so that they can apply theoretical knowledge in the context of working life. Defines the importance of psychology in human theory and practice. The main topics of the course include: A look at basic psychological phenomena, Social processes, Emotions, Motivation, Identity, Conflicts and negotiation, Stress and its management, Social interaction and communication, Group dynamics, Principes of psychological research and its applications. The aim is to clarify, predict and understand the psychological phenomena at work, which help and contribute to success in the work process and are a prerequisite for successful appearance before government agencies, clients, people.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student:
Actively masters the techniques of the discipline at work.
Evaluates on practical examples based on knowledge of basic psychological methods.
He manages the process of self-control, motivation and emotions.
He applies the acquired knowledge of psychology as a science to practice.
Masters the process of influencing, workload, conflicts, stressful situations and the basic role of psychology.
Evaluates attitudes, changes in attitudes and behaviour.
Understands the manager's work with individuals and group dynamics.

Exam conditions
Successful graduates of the course have to get totally at least 70 points under the following conditions: Mid-term grading: maximum 30% (0-30 points). Final grading: maximum 70% (0-70 points). Classification: Z~100 – 70, X 69,99 - 30, N 29,99 – 0.

The course is taught annually.
Teacher's information
The students of the full-time form of study are obliged to fulfill the 70% attendance at the seminars. If the attendance is not met, the students will be automatically classified with the grade "-". Students with an individual study plan will take only a 100-point final test in the exam period. However, students are obliged to contact the teacher immediately after the approval of the individual study plan (ISP), if the student does not do so, his ISP will not be taken into account. (In case of any questions, the student can contact the teacher via email: tmrhalek@mail.vstecb.cz).
