- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the possibilities of applications of functional mathematics, differential geometry and algebra in theoretical and applied physics, especially in engineering mechanics.
- Learning outcomes
- The student is able to orientate in differential geometry and algebra in theoretical and applied physics, especially in engineering mechanics.
- Syllabus
- 1. Geometrická a fyzikální hlediska a souvislosti v infinitezimálním počtu. 2. Stručné zopakování a shrnutí základních pojmů funkcionální matematiky; funkce, limita, derivace, neurčitý a určitý integrál. 3. Vztažné souřadné soustavy a formy popisu fyzikálních jevů. 4. Základy vektorové algebry s akcentem na geometrické a fyzikální aplikace. Pojem tenzoru. 5. Některé geometricky a fyzikálně definované křivky I: Trajektorie sedimentující částice pevného skupenství, asteroida, spirály a šroubovice. 6. Některé geometricky a fyzikálně definované křivky II: Loxodroma, řetězovka, strofoida a různé přechodnice. 7. Moment setrvačnosti těles. Setrvačníky a jejich praktické využití. Volný setrvačník, Maxwellův setrvačník, Cardanův závěs. Těžký setrvačník, jeho precese a nutace. 8. Gyroskopické jevy u dopravních strojů v zatáčce (letadlo, loď, raketa). Gyroskopické jevy u dvojstopých a jednostopých vozidel. Stabilizace letu disku a střely. 9. Funkcionály a jejich aplikace: chladicí elektrárenské věže. 10. Problematika kolem proudění tekutin; Bernoulliův energetický teorém, Eulerova a Navier-Stokesova pohybová rovnice. 11. Potenciálové skalární pole jeho vlastnosti a gradient. 12. Vírové a nevírové vektorové pole. Rotor vektorového pole. Věta Stokesova a Thompsonova. Tok a divergence vektorového pole. Věta Gaussova 13. Přenos signálů optickým vláknem. Zpracování optických signálů. Přenos informací atmosférou a ostatními dielektrickými prostředími. Princip družicového pozorování Země.
