- Students will be able to assess ethical values in business.
- Syllabus
- Students will be provided a wide variety of methodological and disciplinary perspectives concerning the ethical issues arising from business (resources, production management, marketing, consumption, sustainability etc.). 1st lesson: Demands for obtaining the credit, basic principles of student’s independent work, Introduction to the discipline
- 2nd lesson: Ethical Theory and Business Practice
- 3rd lesson: Ethical culture, norms and values of the company 4th lesson: Western philosophical theories about ethics (Aristotle, virtues, Theory of Justice)
- 5th lesson: Government and Market mechanism (Invisible hand, Money, Crises)
- 6th lesson: Labor market (hiring, compensation, discrimination)
- 7th lesson: Corporations and Society (customer complaints, advertising ethics, ENRON, Kickbacks, Bribes, Rent-seeking)
- 8th lesson: Corporations and the Environment

- Demonstrate the capability for rational thought and critical thinking in ethical values. Meet other qualitative and quantitative demands. Test: maximum 40 %. (minimum 25 %) Essay: maximum 60 %. Grading of the course: Successful graduates of the course have to get totally at least 70 points: A 100 – 90, B 89,99 – 84, C 83,99 – 77, D 76,99 – 73, E 72,99 – 70, FX 69,99 – 30, F 29,99 - 0. In case of FX the final test can be repeated.
