Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of this subject is to make university students familiar with two sides of circulatory and transpositional processes, which means the Transport service and the Transportation. To meet the above mentioned aim it is necessary to inform university students about basic terms as for example the Transport service or Transportation, the definition of each Mode of transport, the specifications of transport and the segmentation of transport system. Students will acquaint themselves with the function of transport in the circulatory and transpositional processes and the technical infrastructure of transport branches. Movement of goods and passengers will be presented as the result of working (technological) process of transportation, which means that students will be informed with factors which influence the character, the composition and intensity of Shipping flow and Freight traffic volume in goods and passenger transportation.
At the end of the course students should be able to define basic concepts of transport and transportation, should be able to describe each Mode of transport and the segmentation of transport system. Students should be able to comment on the technical infrastructure of transport branches and each processes in goods and passenger transportation.
Syllabus
  • 1. Two sides of circulatory and transpositional processes. Transport service and Transportation. Function of transport in the circulatory and transpositional processes.
  • 2. Organization of transport in the Czech Republic.
  • 3. Infrastructure of each mean of transport - transport route and equipment. The Railway transport economic characteristics.
  • 4. Infrastructure of each mean of transport - transport route and equipment. The Road transport and the Water transport economic characteristics.
  • 5. Infrastructure of each mean of transport - transport route and equipment. The Air transport and Tubular transport economic characteristics.
  • 6. Means of transport used in different Modes of transport and its economic characteristics. The Railway transport and the Road transport.
  • 7. Means of transport used in Water transport, Air transport and the urban mass transportation and its economic characteristics.
  • 8. The Transport service market and subjects in this market.
  • 9. Factors influencing the creation, the composition and intensity of Shipping flow and Freight traffic volume in goods and passenger transportation.
  • 10. The development of Transport service market in the Czech Republic and the quantification of the transport service area.
  • 11. Basic legal norms related to organization of Transport service and Transportation.
  • 12. State administration, Autonomy and Transport service.

Exam conditions
There will be 2 tests during the semestr - the result is evaluated at the oral exam. Another condition for getting the credit is working out an individual seminar work - the quality of the work is evaluated at the oral exam. The exam consists of a written and oral part. Clasification scale: A....100-90 points B....89-80 points C....79-70 points D....69-60 points E....59-50 points Fx....49-30 points F.....29-0 points
