Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to expand the student's knowledge to the level corresponding to level A2 according to the Common Framework of Reference for Languages and further gradual development of communication skills. Emphasis is placed on the development of dialogic competencies and communication skills associated with the ability to converse on a general topic.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student:
1. understands the main ideas expressed in written language on common topics
2. understands simple texts that contain vocabulary often used in everyday life or that relate to work
3. engages in a conversation on topics which are known to him or which relate to everyday life
4. tells a short story or introduces the content of a book or film and describes his reactions
5. write simple coherent texts on topics that he knows well or that are of personal interest to him

Semester test 30 points (30 % = 25 points for speaking exam, 5 points for written exam during the semester) - full-time students 30 %
on-line on IS VSTE through "ROPOT" - daily study programme 70 %
on-line on IS VSTE through "ROPOT" - combined study programme 100 %
Exam conditions
Full-time form of study:

Grading of the course both for full-time students: an exam during the semester, written test in the examination period. Successful graduates of the course have to get at least 70 points (from both parts together).

Continuous evaluation:

Semester test 30 % (25 % speaking exam, 5 % written test)

Final test:

Final test using ROPOT in the IS (70 %)

Combined form of study:

Grading of the course both for part-time students: written test in the examination period. Successful graduates of the course have to get at least 70 points.

Final test:

Final test using ROPOT in the IS (100 %)

Participation in classes in all forms is governed by a separate internal standard of VŠTE (Records of student attendance at VŠTE). For full-time students, 70% attendance at seminars and seminars is mandatory.
