Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is the acquisition of professionally-focused language skills and knowledge in the fields of transport and logistics, including particular grammatical rules in accordance with the descriptor of B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, in all the productive and receptive skills. After successful completion of the course, the graduate has such language skills to be able to describe professionally-oriented situations, express aptly the main essence of an idea or problem and communicate very well both in spoken and written communications. The graduate can also adopt attitudes to the given topics (see below the syllabus) and using relevant language means, is able to in a relative detail express his/her opinions and viewpoints, discuss the current topics and trends in the fields and apply the theoretical knowledge in practice.
Learning outcomes
Having successfully completed the subject, the students will be able to:
- understand the main ideas of complex texts regarding concrete as well as abstract topics;
- communicate and interact with others using a corresponding degree of fluency and accuracy;
- follow even more complex lines of argument provided the topic is reasonably familiar;
- take an active part in discussions, including technical discussions in the field of Logistics;
- explain their viewpoints on particular issues, while giving possible advantages and disadvantages of various options;
- produce clear and detailed texts on a wide range of subjects.

Exam conditions
Grading of the course for full-time and part-time studies:

Interim assessment: 0 - 30 points;

Final test: 0 - 70 points;

successful graduates of the course have to get totally at least 70 points.

Please note that the final test includes questions within the range of the B2 level (not only based on the textbook).

Teacher's information
Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of the ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). It is compulsory, except of the lectures, for full-time students to attend 70 % lesson of the subjet in a semester.
