Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with basic knowledge in the field of developmental psychology. By default, the subject of the knowledge of General Psychology and the psychology of personality. A pivotal part of the course consists of the stages of the development of personality and their characteristics. The major themes are psychic regulatory mechanisms, personality development and the use of dissonant developmental psychology in education.
After the passing of the course:
- student orientates himself in terms related to the psychology of personality
- the student is able to characterize the internal and external influences psychological development
- the student knows the process of socialization and is able to put it into context with the psychological development of human being
- the student knows the school, theory and significant leaders in the field of developmental psychology
- student orientates himself in various stages of mental development of the human

  • Introduction to the subject of developmental psychology, psychology of personality
  • Principles and determinants of mental development
  • The processes of socialization, the notions of conformity, enculturation, personalization and professionalisation, stages and mechanisms of socialization, the forms of social learning
  • Schools and theories that have influenced the developmental psychology, personality development, transformation according to the selected authors
  • Developmental stages, development tasks aimed at puberty, adolescence and adulthood, a lifelong process and perspective of the development of the personality life story, critical life events
  • Application of developmental psychology, relationship to training, didactic principles for different development phase
