Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with the basic knowledge from the branch of General Psychology and the psychology of personality, to present an overview of patterns and trends in the areas of psychology and to draw attention to current developments in the field. Equally important aim is to point out the relation of psychology and education
After the passing of the course:
student has an overview of the psychological disciplines and related terminology
the student's awareness in a variety of determinants of the human psyche and can express the relation between the human body and the effects
the student knows the mental processes, is aware of their interdependence and complexity
the student is able to define the notion of personality, knows its structure and dynamic elements and controls the basic theory of personality psychology
the student understands the continuity of General Psychology and orientated in the applications-oriented teaching and other educational activities
Syllabus
  • General introduction to the subject of psychology, an overview of the psychological disciplines-Basic, special and applied; psychological methodology and basic methods of psychological research
  • Biological and social conditionality of the human psyche, inheritance, biological needs, physical conditions, the development of the psyche of man
  • Interpersonal relationships as a social determinant of psyche, the relationships within the Group and between groups, social norms and culture
  • Experience – consciousness, unconsciousness and will, the concept of conscious and unconscious processes
  • Mental processes — emotion, temperament, motivation, cognitive processes, memory and learning, imagination and thinking
  • Skills-grade, species and the possibility of exploring the capabilities of
  • Intelligence – definition, measurement of intelligence, intelligence, components, models and types of intelligence
  • Language, thought and speech from the perspective of General Psychology
  • The personality as subject knowledge in psychology, structure and dynamics of personality, theories and approaches to personality psychology
  • The self-historical and contemporary perspectives on the self, cognitive, emotional, and konativní aspects of the self
  • Personality in the ordinary and normal conditions and situations
  • Options for exploring the personalities, methods of examination
  • Application of psychology in education, the context of educational theories and objectives
