This item has been designed to enable teachers to create questions of mathematical type that
students are supposed to answer with an algebraic expression. The correctness of the expression
is verified by the Maple program, which is capable of assessing different forms of the same
expression (e.g. "1/2*sin x" and "sin(x)/2"). However, for the program to be able to evaluate the expression, the latter must have the syntax
the program understands.
To ensure the expressions get evaluated correctly, you may want to use a whitelist and blacklist
of functions and procedures permitted and deprecated in the solutions respectively.
