- The course objective is to improve the language competence level in general language to B2 level according to CEFR in all productive and receptive skills. The students who have completed the course have successfully can follow a complicated exchange of opinions, they can provide a complex description without longer hesitations and with the help of subordinate clauses. They are able to avoid mistakes which could cause misunderstanding. They can initiate, maintain and close the conversation.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon successful completion of the subject, the students are able to: - understand various types of technical texts and texts in colloquial English, - derive meanings of unknown words from the context, - understand detailed information when listening a conversation, make notes, - use all verb tenses and make questions, - tell a story, express feelings and wishes, - conversate on a number of topics, - write a complex and clear text without major grammar mistakes.

- Full-time and part-time form of study: Semester exam – 30 % Final exam – 70 % Pass the final test and semester exam (written and spoken exam, listening, max. 30 points). Semester exam takes place according to the schedule specified by a teacher. Final test requires B2 level according to CEFR (max. 70 points).

- Teacher's information
- Students are active during the lessons and perform tasks assigned by teachers. The learning material of ACJ_5 is from 1st to 5th lesson of the textbook. The attendance at lessons is governed by Internal Regulations of ITB (keeping records of students' attendance at ITB). The compulsory attendance in seminars for full-time students is 70% In the event of failing to meet requirements for successful completion before the deadline, students are entitled to one retake. The examination date for the retake is announced by a specific teacher or guarantor of the subject within the respective exam period. The continuous and final assessment shall also apply to students with ISP. The student and teacher will agree on the specific date of the continuous assessment. The date must be set no later than two weeks before the end of the semester.
