Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with an overview of the in the field of social psychology and allow preview to themselves and their surroundings from the perspective of socio-psychological thinking. The contents of the course are both traditional themes such as the psychology of personality, communication and cognitive psychology, as well as a focus on modern aspects of social psychology as a skill in the evaluation of the performance and competences or area of personal development.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course:
- student orientates himself in concepts and processes related to the social groups and individuals in relation to social psychology
- student has an overview in the area of social cognition, distinguishes and recognizes the diversity of attitudes and values
- a student can apply the knowledge of teaching socialization and communication and coping with stress
- the student knows the different methods of evaluation and has an overview of the options in the access to personal growth
Syllabus
  • Introduction to the subject of social psychology-social psychology, history, related disciplines, the main theoretical approach to social psychology
  • Social groups – the types, structure and dynamics, status and roles, standards, large social groups and their culture, crowd behavior, virtual groups
  • Personality in social psychology, personality, personality types, the properties, behavior, people management and leadership
  • Social perception and interpretation of social perception, personality perception, perceptual errors
  • Attitudes, values and their measurement-creating attitudes, changes in attitudes, Central and peripheral attitudes, values and evaluation
  • Research in social psychology – an overview of the basic methods and their applications
  • Teaching socialization – subject objectives of teaching and working with them, a comprehensive educational care (plan the process, barriers, standards, the personality of the teacher)
  • Teaching communication – actors and factors influencing climate change communication, school classes, percepčně and interpretačně attitudinal interpretation of
  • Communication skills, active listening, paraphrasing, feedback, technology leadership, assertiveness, influencing, paralingvistické and non-verbal aspects of communication
  • Evaluation of the performance and competences in the real and model situations – AC/DC, case studies, evaluation interviews, 360 ° feedback
  • Resistance to stress and coping with stress situations
  • Sociometrics and its use in social groups
  • Personal development – mentoring, supervision, coaching, learning by doing, learning plans
