- The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with the principles and use of modern management approaches in the field of finance when managing the logistics of setting the financial plan of the enterprise in the field of logistics for the particular period, implementation of necessary changes and adjustments resulting from the current and changing customers´ requirements. Students will improve their theoretical knowledge from the issues focusing on the business economics and finance. They will focus on the integrated logistics and financial services of the third-party logistics (3PL). Students will become familiar with the controlling in logistics, the controlling approaches in terms of the enterprise and their practical use as well.
- Syllabus
- 1. Economic parameters of the enterprise and logistics (cost and profit).
- 2. Basic indicators of financial analysis and financial plan in logistics (profit and loss statement forecasting, balance sheet forecasting and cash-flow statement forecasting).
- 3. Financial aspects of enterprise start-ups. Mergers and financial aspects of mergers. Enterprise valuation (approaches, methods, procedure of the valuation).
- 4. Enterprise logistics system (structure, goals). Financial decision-making and planning. Planning the transport enterprise logistics performance.
- 5. Theoretical definition of controlling (basic terms, development, division, assumptions of functioning, subject, competencies). Marketing and personal controlling.
- 6. Controlling tools. Financial controlling (tasks, indicators, methods).
- 7. Controlling system. Building the controlling system. Factors of success and failure of the controlling implementation.
- 8. Managed processes controlling - cost-benefit controlling in logistics.
- 9. Integration of financial management system and logistics information system.
- 10. Tasks of financial management of enterprise (enterprise transformation process, time factor, risk factor).
- 11. Financial accounting and management accounting. Models of budget budget constraint.
- 12. Risk management in the logistics chains.
- 13. Logistics and financial services of third-party logistics - 3PL (logistics services providers, collaborative models of 3PL, concept of 3PL).

- Grading of the course: Delivery and presentation of the semester work + Comprehensive assessment of the students activities: maximum 30% (0-30 points), Final Test: maximum 70% (0-70 points). Successful graduates of the course have to get totally at least 70 points: A 100 – 90, B 89,99 – 84, C 83,99 – 77, D 76,99 – 73, E 72,99 – 70, FX 69,99 – 30, F 29,99 - 0.
