Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to get acqainted with the possibilities of using sociological and psychological knowledge in business management, business culture and management. A graduate is able to describe basic social processes, s/he understands the field of institutional issues, s/he can identify with attitudes of an interpreted social group. S/he can design and formulate appropriate methods and techniques of research in sociology and sociometry. These methods and strategies s/he can appropriately implement into practice. Theoretical knowledge s/he practices in managerial, economic and business professions.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the subject, the students will be able to:
- use basic concepts from psychology in practice;
- explain mutual relations between concepts from psychology;
- formulate basic issues of work and management psychology;
- apply basic psychological knowledge in a research project;
- assess the results of a research project based on the knowledge of psychology.

  • 1. Principles of general psychology, psychological schools (behaviourism, humane psychology ….)
  • 2. Psychology of personality, structure of personality, personality and motivation
  • 3. Self-conception, self - esteem, assertive behaviour
  • 4. Personality in social relations, socialization, learning process, personality of a manager, a worker.Psychological tests.
  • 5. Exacting life situation, conflicts in the workplace, interpersonal terms in working groups
  • 6. Work psychology, motivational agents of job performance
  • 7. Efficient evaluation and motivation of workers, management styles

  • 8. Principal trends in sociology development
  • 9. Social stratification, social status, social role, ritualized behaviour
  • 10. Institution and organization, social systems, conception of state, policy, exercise of the authority

Successful graduates of the course have to get totally at least 70 points under following conditions: Mid-term grading: maximum 30% (0-30 points). Final grading: maximum 70% (0-70 points). Classification: A 100 – 90, B 89,99 – 84, C 83,99 – 77, D 76,99 – 73, E 72,99 – 70, FX 69,99 – 30, F 29,99 – 0.

The students of the full-time form of study are obliged to fulfill the 70% attendance at the seminars. If the attendance is not met, the students will be automatically classified "F".

The course is taught annually.
Teacher's information
The lectures will take place through MS Teams in real time according to a set timetable, but at the same time they will be recorded and will be available to students of the combined form of study. The seminars will take place through MS Teams in real time according to a set timetable. Attendance at seminars will be monitored.

Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). It is compulsory, except of the lectures, for full-time students to attend 70 % lesson of the subject in a semester.
