Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
To deepen students' professional knowledge in the field of management and control of business processes as a basis for managing their process changes. Students will learn the practical use of methods in the management of process change in the organizational, technological, economic-social and administrative. During the exercises, students will learn the basic principles and procedures for processing change projects, including the principles of their implementation. Creating awareness of the urgency of introducing new concepts of corporate governance will create prerequisites for students to understand the current changes in the internal and external business environment, the intensity of which is constantly increasing. After completing the course, the student will deepen interdisciplinary knowledge, based on which he can predict changes with a higher degree of reliability, comprehensively assess the risks and choose appropriate solutions.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student:
1. understands change management theory
2. can analyze the need for change
3. knows the meaning and essence of predicting changes
4. understands the process management of change in the company
5. knows the principles of behavior and behavior of the manager in the process of change
6. Understands the policy of managing change on a holistic approach
7. knows the institutional background in the Czech Republic for changes in the corporate environment
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction to the issue, theoretical concepts of change management.
  • 2. Process changes in the system concept of the company, the need for change and management in chaos.
  • 3. Normative and descriptive models of business management in the context of process changes within the business system.
  • 4. Enterprise architecture in terms of its readiness for process changes.
  • 5. Prediction of change, understanding and "use of crises" and other developmental pressures to gain a competitive advantage.
  • 6. Functional and process management and changes in business processes.
  • 7. The process of change in the company.
  • 8. Models of change management in the company.
  • 9. The role of the manager in the process of change in the company.
  • 10. Change of corporate architecture and strategy.
  • 11. Changes in thinking, attitudes, behavior and decisions of managers in turbulent and discontinuous times.
  • 12.Political management policy in business practice based on a holistic approach (forms of change, radical and evolutionary change, Metamorphing).
  • 13. Institutional background for change management in the company (STP, business clusters, business incubators, CzechInvest agencies, Czech Trade, OPEI, PIC).

Test - final 100 %. The final test must be completed at least 70 points. Assessment scale of final exam: A 100 – 90, B 89,99 – 84, C 83,99 – 77, D 76,99 – 73, E 72,99 – 70, FX 69,99 – 30, F 29,99 - 0.

Teacher's information
Students with an individual study plan will take a 100-point final test in the examination period from the subject Change Management. Attendance at classes in all forms is governed by a separate internal standard of VŠTE (Records of student attendance at VŠTE). For full-time students, 70% attendance at seminars and seminars is mandatory.
