Abstract
Ordinary Portland cement-based concrete as well as its lightweight derivates are essential structural or supplementary non-bearing materials in residential and non-residential construction. However, a considerable amount of natural and industrially produced aggregates is consumed to their manufacturing. In this context, different sorts of blended demolition wastes from construction industry may introduce a promising alternatives with respect to traditionally used aggregates. This work is focused on the application of recycled lightweight blend (RLB) replacing natural aggregate in the amount of 0 – 100 % in the production of concretes with adjusted properties. Laboratory prepared modified concrete samples, cured under water for 28 days, were subjected to testing to determine their structural and thermal-physical properties and the results were compared with reference material. The analysis of obtained data revealed notable weight reduction of hardened concretes with higher RLB content promoting their thermal performance. On the basis of obtained knowledge, designed concretes may find the potential usage for interior buildings applications in the form of lightweight filling material.
