First, we briefly compare the fuzzy approach with the statistical methods in the cases where predictors face a non-deterministic environment. The principles of the fuzzy set theory is described and then applied in the gross domestic product growth rate prediction of Greece for the years 2018 (compared to the reported econometric forecast) and 2020 (a new contribution to the paper).
