General and specific characteristics of regional disparity shall be introduced in the Czech Republic. A definition of the regional management will be carried out and its role of the strategic progress and development in the territory, in particular. The procedure applied at the creation of Regional Strategic Development Plans will be characterized in terms of the content and time dimension. The term of a regional disparity will be specified as well as the meaning of its classification for the differentiated attitude to the regional strategies projection and implementation. The Region Šumava will be presented as a practical example to show the document elaboration of its Strategic Development.
