The research study presents the calculation procedures as well as relevant comparison of GHG (so-called greenhouse gases) production between two selected transport modes. EN 16258:2012 as the European Standard was implemented to specify the emission intensity values. This standard is considered to be a fully-fledged part of European policy to struggle against transport emission productions. Results achieved emphasize the final environmental impact values of transport operation expressed by means of emission intensity units to a number of carried passengers. Thus, individual calculation values by the EN 16258:2012 standard are compared between two transport modes, specifically railway and road passenger transport. ER -
