Článek se zabývá teoretickými, metodologickými a analytickými aspekty vývoje modernizačních procesů. Pro komplexní analýzu modernizačních procesů autoři navrhují analytickou metodu, která vyžaduje identifikaci fází analýzy, systematizaci stávajících a navrhuje nové ukazatele. Na základě rozvinuté metodiky jsou provedeny analytické studie o vlastnostech modernizace v různých zemích.
