Abstract
This article is based on an empirical study in several schools and focuses on foreign languages learning and its relation to the age of the pupils. The authors tried to find out if there is any connection between the age when a pupil first starts learning a foreign language and their skills in this language after a few years. The study is based on statistical analysis and the results are interpreted and summarized in tables.

Tento článek vychází z empirické studie realizované na několika školách. Soustředí se na vztah mezi jazykovým vzděláváním a věkem žáků. Autoři se pokusili zjistit, zda existuje souvislost mezi tím, v jakém věku se dítě začne učit cizímu jazyku a jeho pozdějšími dovednostmi v této oblasti. Studie je založena na statistické analýze. Její výsledky jsou interpretovány a shrnuty v tabulkách.
