Abstract
Hráči počítačových her často vyžadují transformaci již existujícího anglického výrazu, jenž se ve hře objevuje, do jejich rodného jazyka. Cílem příspěvku je určit způsob, jakým jsou původní anglická substantiva převáděna do českého gramatického systému. Teoretická část referuje o pozici angličtiny ve světě, pojednává o filozofii gramaticko-lexikální adaptace obecně a rovněž nastiňuje základní principy dané hry. Dále pak popisuje již existující slang českých hráčů počítačových her. V praktické části jsou podstatná jména analyzována z hlediska slovotvorby, sémantické motivace a širšího situačního kontextu. U každého analyzovaného substantiva je uveden typický příklad jeho užití ve hře. Výsledky výzkumu jsou ověřeny v rámci rozboru praktické části příspěvku.
Abstract (in English)
Computer game players often have the need to adapt original English expressions appearing in the particular game to their mother tongue system. The aim of this article is to explore the way the original English nouns are adapted to the Czech language system. The theoretical part points out the importance of English language in virtual worlds, and introduces a general philosophy of the game itself; further it reflects modern trends of word-formation processes in Czech language. The empirical part analyses the nouns regarding their meaning in the game and morphological and semantics characteristics. The analysed nouns are provided with typical examples of their common usage in the game.
