This paper is focused on the selected environmental indicators (emissions production and energy consumption), by which the environmental effectiveness of direct road freight transport and combined transport is assessed. Utilizing the selected environmental indicators, external costs savings when using the combined transport, are calculated. Only the external costs generating from the creation of transport emissions and energy consumption for carrying out the transport are expressed. The practical comparison of the external costs on the particular transportation section is outlined in the final part of this paper.

Příspěvek je zaměřen na vybrané environmentální ukazatele (produkce emisí a spotřeba energie), kterými se posuzuje efektivita přímé silniční nákladní dopravy a kombinované dopravy z environmentálního hlediska. S využitím vybraných environmentálních ukazatelů se vypočítá úspora externích nákladů při použití kombinované dopravy. Jsou vyjádřeny pouze externí náklady, které vznikají při tvorbě dopravních emisí a spotřeby energie v dopravě. V závěrečné části příspěvku je uvedeno srovnání externích nákladů vyprodukovaných na konkrétní dopravní trase.
