This contribution illustrates the common relations that have developed between the Region of South Bohemia and the People’s Republic of China in the field of education, business and entrepreneurship, health care systems, culture and tourism since 2004. The opening section focuses on the historical bonds of co-operation between both countries. What follows is an insight into the business and cultural differences as they are perceived by several Chinese students studying for one semester in the Czech Republic.

Tento příspěvek ilustruje vývoj vzájemných vztahů mezi Jihočeským krajem a Čínskou lidovou republikou v oblasti vzdělávání, obchodu a podnikání, zdravotní péče, kultury a cestovního ruchu od roku 2004. Úvodní část se zaměřuje na historické vazby spolupráce mezi oběma zeměmi. Pak následuje vhled do obchodních a kulturních rozdílů, jak jsou vnímány několika čínskými studenty studujícími jeden semestr v České republice.
