Sustainability is often overlooked in favor of other technical or humanitarian subjects in many civil/construction engineering programs. This has been noted not only by UNESCO but also by many eminent researchers in engineering education. To help address this issue, this paper presents approaches to introduce civil engineering students to sustainability issues by using a conceptual model based on the emerging issues of sustainability in the construction industry.

Udržitelnost je často přehlížena ve prospěch jiných technických nebo humanitárních subjektů v mnoha inženýrských stavebních studijních programech. To uvádí nejen UNESCO, ale také mnoho významných výzkumných pracovníků inženýrského vzdělávání. Tento článek prezentuje přístupy k zavedení problematiky udržitelného rozvoje do studia stavebního inženýrství pomocí konceptuálního modelu, který je založený na rozvíjejících se otázkách udržitelnosti ve stavebnictví.
