The present is characterized by the turbulence, uncertainty and political and economic instability. The world economy begins to accept this uncertainty and risk faktors as a constant factors that are present in company management. Logistics represents a mean of reducing turbulence and uncertainty in business, while its primary role is the systemic solution, coordination and synchronization of material chains and information flow within the company and with the environment. In recent years, in addition to the conventional roles of logistics, there are new opportunities and requirements on logistics regarding the process management, e-logistics and supply chain management and exactly on these changes and new trends in logistics is addressed this article.

Současná doba se vyznačuje turbulencí, nejistotou a politickou a ekonomickou nestabilitou. Světová ekonomika proto začíná přijímat nejistotu a riziko jako stálé činitele při řízení podniku. Logistika představuje prostředek snižování turbulence a nejistoty v podnikání, přičemž její úlohou je systémové řešení, koordinace a synchronizace řetězců materiálových a informačních toků uvnitř podniku a v jeho okolí. V posledních rocích se současně s konvenčními úlohami logistiky objevují nové možnosti a požadavky na logistiku v souvislosti s procesním řízením, e-logistikou a SCM (Supply Chain Management) a právě na tyto změny a trendy v oblasti logistiky je zaměřen tento příspěvek.
