The Czech kitchen waste was found to have a high starch content, to be easily hydrolyzable and its substrate production of methane, methane yield and anaerobic decomposability were found to be better than in the traditional substrate for Czech biogas stations, i.e. a mixture of cattle slurry, maize silage and grass haylage.
