N2  - The article focuses on the skill of listening and its development through exercises with contemporary music in English language classroom teaching. It refers to the advantages of this method of teaching, particularly greater attractiveness for students and their higher motivation. This article deals with the timing and appropriate learning activities associated with the songs and particularly the importance of the style of music selected for the students. Benefit from this way mediated foreign language is particularly vocabulary extension, getting accustomed to slang, contractions, a faster pace of speech and acquisition of phrases occurring in everyday speech.
