Today there is a relatively high competition on the retail services market therefore it is necessary to make some steps to have as most loyal customers as possible. One way how to achieve this aim is to make the whole purchase process more effective for the customer. Nowadays many retailers use the self-scanning system. In the United States and west European countries this system is implemented for a longer time than in the Czech Republic. The first retailer implementing this system in our republic was Globus retail chain. The aim of this article is to describe Scan&Go system and also to introduce the methods of it’s using in the retail chain and also to compare the current implementation state of this system in the Czech Republic, Europe and the United States. Based on this article it is clear the way of this system using is very similar in Europe and in the United States. The Wal-Mart retail chain uses more modern technologies (Mobile shopping) than European retailers. The task for European retailers to the future is the implementation of modern technologies to their business activities with the aim of customers’ convenience.
