V současné době se trh ubytovacích služeb vyznačuje vysokou konkurencí a stále se projevujícími důsledky ekonomické krize. Tyto faktory způsobily pokles poptávky po ubytovacích službách, která je velmi důchodově elastická. Využití manažerského informačního systému může pomoci manažerům hotelů s optimalizací nákladů, maximalizací obratu a také se zvýšením efektivity téměř všech procesů, které probíhají v rámci běžné činnosti hotelu. Cílem tohoto příspěvku je představit manažerské informační systémy a nastínit možnosti jejich využití na trhu ubytovacích služeb.

Today there is a high competition on the hotel industry market and the economic crisis effects are still manifesting on this market. That is why the demand for hotel industry services still decreases (this demand is very sensitive to income changes). Management information system use can help hotel managers with cost optimization, turnover maximizing and also with increase of effectiveness of all processes taking place in the hotel. The aim of this paper is to introduce management information systems and to outline how to use the management information systems in the hotel industry.
