Novela stavebního zákona přinese do praxe stavebníků i stavebních úřadů mnoho změn. V mnoha případech dojde ke zjednodušení dosavadních postupů. Některé části stavebního zákona jsou upraveny podrobněji. Novela stavebního zákona byla vydána ve Sbírce zákonů pod číslem 350/2012 Sb. a začne platit od 1. ledna 2013. Novela stavebního zákona přinesla i mnoho změn v požární ochraně staveb.

An amendment of the Building Act will bring many changes to developers and building offices. Procedures of the Building Act will be simplified in a lot of cases. Some parts of the Building Act are modified in detail. This amendment has been published in the Collection of Laws under No. 350/2012 Coll .. and it will be effective from January 1, 2013. An amendment of the Building Act will bring many changes in fire protection of buildings.
