The paper is based on the CELTA course as the source for inspirational trends in English teaching, which can be applied not only in the Czech Republic, but throughout the world. The course introduces current trends in the field of teaching English in an international concept. It is focused on more practical skills important in teaching. The contribution highlights the importance of getting to know the students of the course, teaching materials according to the focus of the students. Effective lesson planning is another point mentioned in the article. The role of expert teachers and tutorials in a teaching practice of teacher beginners or less experienced teachers are the following areas to be addressed. Finally, the content touches intercultural awareness, feedback and video.
