Vliv tepelných mostů se výrazně zvyšuje s rostoucími požadavky na tepelnou ochranu budov. Poměrně známý je jejich negativní vliv na energetickou bilanci stavby. Nezaslouženě opomíjený je ale negativní vliv tepelných mostů jako míst pro lokální kondenzaci vodní páry. Tím je vytvářeno ideální prostředí pro růst plísní a v konečném důsledku pak nevhodné mikroklima pro pobyt lidí.

Effect of thermal bridges is significantly increased with the increasing demand for thermal protection of buildings. Quite well known is their negative impact on the energy balance of the building. Undeservedly neglected but the impact of thermal bridges as sites for local condensation of water vapor. This creates an ideal environment for mold growth, and ultimately it unsuitable microclimate for stay of people.
