Zhlaví stropních trámů na obvodových zdech je jedním z velmi namáhaných míst stavby. Obyvatelé starších domů, kde jsou dřevěné trámové stropy, si většinou neuvědomují jaký vliv má jejich bydlení na stropní konstrukci. To může vést k výrazným poruchám - uhnívání zhlaví trámů a následně k finančně velice náročným rekonstrukcím.
