Jan Amos Comenius continues to be an inspiration in the present times and therefore his works still attract considerable attention. This piece of writing focuses on the legacy of his works with the aimto examine the teaching methods of role play and simulation and to relate them to the ideas of Comenius’. The purpose is to find out where the ideas and the techniques complement each other and how the principles of the eminent Bohemian scholar are materialized by the techniques. The other purpose of the work is to give relevant characteristics of the legacy of Comenius’ works for the modern era as well as to describe the features of the techniques of simulation and role play. The methods are furthermore analyzed with regard to Comenius’ principles of teaching.
