Triple bottom line (TBL or 3 BL) concept is rapidly becoming the guiding instrument providing operational definition of sustainability in the sphere of not only progressive business management but also in the non-profit and governmental sectors for their respective sustainability framework. The present paper explains TBL concept in the context of sustainability discusses possible application of the concept and explains the role it can play in the case of organizations and opines for application in the construction waste management sector within local, regional and/or national sustainable framework.

Koncept trojité dolní meze (TBL nebo 3 BL) se rychle stává hlavním nástrojem, který poskytuje pracovní definici udržitelnosti nejen v oblasti progresivního řízení podniku, ale také v neziskových a vládních sektorech. Tento příspěvek vysvětluje pojem TBL v rámci udržitelnosti, popisuje možné použití pojmu a vysvětluje úlohy, které může hrát v případě organizací a doporučuje použití konceptu v oblasti odpadového hospodářství stavebních procesu pří posuzovaní udržitelnosti na místní, regionální a národní úrovni.
