Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint a student with solution of basic problems the stress-strain analysis of deformable bodies at a constant timing of external action and reaction burdensome force effects acting on a body. The student will learn to condemn the body from the viewpoints of allowable stress of the material and leave deformation structures in an uniaxial and multiaxial stress state. The student will learn to solve tasks using methods of vector mechanics, analytical mechanics, and also become familiar with modern matrix methods and their deployment in strength and elasticity by the transfer matrix method and the finite element method.
Learning outcomes
Student can:
- mathematically describe strain and transformation for simple and combined stress;
- define boundary states and formulate strength conditions;
- mathematically describe stress and deformation tasks in cases of general spatial stress;
- explain the dimensioning procedure for cyclic loading of the component;
- explain the basic terms of the Fracture Mechanics.
