Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The course introduces students to the issues of process chains of engineering companies in connection with the links between technological and logistics processes and the competitiveness of engineering products in global markets. The graduate of the course is able to define and explain the goals and tasks of logistics, can analyze and design processes and systems with target behavior, can plan logistics processes of production activities, can design and dimension handling, transport and storage means, can perform logistics control operations, has basic knowledge of areas of occupational safety in the field of logistics in mechanical engineering.
Learning outcomes
The student is able to define and explain objectives and tasks of logistics, can analyze and design processes and systems with target behavior, can plan logistics processes of production activities, can design and dimension manipulation, transport and storage means, can perform logistic control operations, occupational safety in the field of logistics in mechanical engineering.

  • 1. Introduction to the issue of material flows and logistics, process and logistics chain, logistic transformation, system approach and integrated concept of material and information flows 2. Task, goals, interdisciplinary character and basic concepts of logistics 3. Business logistics of an industrial enterprise - areas, structures, connections and interfaces, cross-sectional functions, architecture 4. Effects of the global market on corporate logistics - market changes, conditions for market success, main and partial goals of corporate logistics, target conflicts 5. Basic principles of designing logistics systems, priorities 6. Construction of products according to logistics aspects 7. Structures of production logistics, spatial arrangement, technical means, production principles and methods 8. Informatics and communication in logistics - role, means 9. Value chain and its technological and logistical links; logistical performance of the article 10. Article model - inputs and outputs, structure, means, processes, management; Supply Chain Management 11. Work equipment for the implementation of logistics functions - transport and lifting equipment, equipment for loading operations, handling equipment, storage equipment 12. Selection and basics of dimensioning of working means 13. Logistics management and controlling - tasks and procedures
