- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- Learning outcomes of the course unit The course will provide students with theoretical knowledge about the impact of engineering technologies on the environment. Students will gain an overview of the laws and regulations dealing with the individual components of the environment and its protection. During the semester the student will become acquainted with mathematical methods of evaluation and comparison of engineering technologies. They will acquire basic knowledge of physical factors directed at the environment and work environment and waste management of engineering companies.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will gain theoretical knowledge about the impact of engineering technologies on the environment. The student will gain an overview of laws and regulations dealing with individual components of the environment and its protection. During the semester, the student will get acquainted with mathematical methods of evaluation and comparison of engineering technologies. Gain basic knowledge of physical factors aimed at the living and working environment and waste management of engineering companies.
- Syllabus
- 1. Introduction to environmental issues, basic terms, engineering production and technology division, production process 2. Methods of environmental engineering evaluation (SEA, EIA) 3. Sustainable development in engineering 4. Methods for evaluation of environmental level of engineering objects 5. Complex method of mechanical object evaluation by life cycle analysis (LCA) 6. Working environment in engineering operation 7. Physical factors of working environment - noise, vibration 8. Safety and health protection at work, marking of safety area, PPE, accident documentation 9. Waste Act, types of wastes in engineering, waste management program 10. Waste recycling in engineering production, municipal waste, hazardous waste, waste management 11. Air protection, Permissible level of pollution, assessment and evaluation of pollution level, methods of air pollution detection 12. Act on Waters and on Amendments to Some Acts (Water Act) 13. Act on prevention of major accidents caused by selected dangerous chemical substances or chemical mixtures
