- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- The course learning objective is to increase B1 English level, enlarge vocabulary and achieve language skills in accordance with B1+ level descriptor of The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Having successfully completed the course, students can understand longer communication, follow debates and participate in discussions on general topics. Furthermore, they are able to understand most TV and radio news and programmes as well as newspaper and online articles on topical issues. They are relatively fluent and able to express their opinion on a wide range of topics. - Learning outcomes
- After successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
communicate their enquiries more extensively and explain given problems;
provide specific information required in an interview or a consultation;
summarise or express (both in speaking and writing) their opinion on a short story, article, discussion or documentary and answer further questions in detail;
carry out a prepared interview, listen and check the information mentioned, though it may be occasionally necessary to ask for repetition if the other person’s response is rapid or extended;
describe how to do various activities and give detailed instructions;

Final Test = 70 % (0 – 70 points) and Semester exam = 30% (0-30). The Final test requires knowledge according to B1+ level descriptor of The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. To successfully pass the course, students have to get at least 70 points in total.

- Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of the Institute (Attendance record of students at VŠTE). It is required for full-time students to have at least 70% attendance of the course.
Students are required to take the Semester exam no later than before the end of the semester as instructed by their respective teacher, Final test is taken during the exam period in a paper or electronic form using computers.
Students with an individual study plan (ISP) must notify their respective seminar group teacher of this fact no later than the second week of the semester. Students with ISPs must complete the Semester exam and the Final test. The Semester exam will take place on a date agreed with their respective teacher. The date must be agreed with the teacher no later than two weeks before the end of the semester. The course guarantor may be contacted in case of any quesries.

- The course objective is to deepen B1 language skills and gradually achieve B1+ according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, enlarge vocabulary and improve listening, reading, speaking and writing skills. After successful completion of the course, the students are able to understand lectures, debates and participate in discussions on general topics/topics of their interest. Students understand TV and radio news, programmes and newspaper/online articles on topical issues. They are fluent and able to express their opinion on a wide range of topics.

- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- The course objective is to deepen B1 language skills and gradually achieve B1+ according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, enlarge vocabulary and improve listening, reading, speaking and writing skills. After successful completion of the course, the students are able to understand lectures, debates and participate in discussions on general topics/topics of their interest. Students understand TV and radio news, programmes and newspaper/online articles on topical issues. They are fluent and able to express their opinion on a wide range of topics.
- Learning outcomes
- Having successfully completed the subject, the students will be able to:
- communicate their enquiries more extensively and explain given problems;
- provide specific information required in an interview or a consultation;
- summarise or express (orally or in a written form) their opinion about a short story, article, discussion or documentary and answer further questions in detail;
- carry out a prepared interview, listen and check the information mentioned, though it may be occasionally necessary to ask for repetition if the other person’s response is rapid or extended;
- describe how to do various activities and give detailed instructions;
- exchange the content of accumulated factual information on familiar (routine) and non-routine matters within their field or area of interest. - Syllabus

- Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of the ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). It is compulsory, except of the lectures, for full-time students to attend 70 % lesson of the subjet in a semester.

- The students are able to understand lectures, debates and participate in discussions on general topics or topics of their interest. Students understand TV and radio news,programmes, and newspapers or online articles on topical issues. They can express their opinion on a wide range of topics. The students are able to participate in conversations, they can speak fluently and spontaneously and present their views. They can write clear texts on topical issues, write a report and pass on some information, defend or refute an opinion and emphasize important events i a letter.
