VŠTE belongs to the public non-university institutions of tertiary education level. It was established on 27th April 2006 by the Act No 162/2006 Coll. of 17th March 2006, establishing the Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice. Today, the Institute has more than 3000 students.
VŠTE offers bachelor’s study programmes and in connection with them it realises research, development and creative activities. VŠTE focuses its activities mainly on the implementation of the 3-4 year long vocational bachelor degree programmes, both full-time and part-time.
The realization of the professional bachelor's degree programs is supported by cooperation with leading companies of the region. The study programmes taught at the institute offer a well-balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in accordance with the needs of the regional labour market. One semester-long work placement is a significant part of the degree programmes.
Applied research, introduction of innovative technologies and knowledge transfer in areas that are up-to-date and crucial for the needs of the region are among other priorities of VŠTE.
The modern campus provides students with good conditions for studying. Students can take all their meals in the campus cafeteria and are offered an on-campus accommodation.
The Institute of Technology and Business in České Budějovice, was awarded the prestigious Diploma Supplement Label by the European Commission for the period 2011 to 2014.
VŠTE also offers life-long learning programmes.
VŠTE cooperates with higher education institutions in EU countries through various international projects and the Erasmus programme.
