OR6/2012-2 Appendix 2 Guidelines for writing student research papers 1 Content and format A student research paper should resemble a scientific and creative work in terms of both content and form. The formal structure is based on the standard division of scientific papers into a title page, table of contents, literature review, aim of the paper, methodology (scope of the study), methodology, the results themselves, their analysis, evaluation – discussion of the results, proposals and measures, and conclusions, a list of references, appendices and a summary, or rather the requirements prescribed for the submission of bachelor’s theses. Detailed information on the individual chapters can be found in the materials for the course ‘Methodology of Academic Papers’, available on the VŠTE IS. 2 Technical requirements The student’s academic thesis shall be prepared in accordance with the current version of the template for writing seminar and qualification theses at VŠTE, available in the VŠTE IS. 3 Presentation The format of the public defence before the plenary session and the assessment committee is as follows: - Appropriate formal attire - Defence of a PowerPoint presentation before the expert committee – max. 15 minutes - Questions from the plenary – max. 10 minutes
