- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- The aim of the course is the acquisition of technical vocabulary and professional language skills. The acquired productive and receptive skills are in accordance with the descriptor of B1+ level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, including the grammar rules. Upon the successful completion of the course, the student are able to: - describe professionally oriented situations, express in an efficient way the main idea; they are able to talk about a given topics. The student is able to communicate and can take an opinion on the given(technical) topic. The student uses the technical vocabulary (with only a little hesitation and using the periphrastic forms) his/her opinion on a topic discussed in the seminars. The student is able to maintain the discussion on the current topics and to apply his/her knowledge in practice.
- Learning outcomes
- Student - has a command of technical vocabulary related to their field of study - is able to look up specific information in professional literature in English - can create and give a presentantation on the topic related to their field of study - is able to describe a problem related to their field of study - can express their opinions and attitudes to a specific problem related to their field of study, only with some smaller grammar or lexical inaccuracies that do not hinder understanding

- Full-time and part-time form of study:
Grading of the course both for full-time and part-time students: an exam during the semester (presentation), written test in the examination period. Successful graduates of the course have to get at least 70 points (from both parts together).

full-time students are obliged to meet the mandatory 70% attendance in seminars (except lectures). For successful completion of the course, students are obliged to actively participate in lessons and complete the assigned tasks
Students with an Individual Study Plan (ISP) must notify the instructor no later than the second week of the semester. Students with an ISP must complete both a midterm and final evaluation. The mid-term assessment in the form of a presentation on the assigned topic will take place on a date arranged with the group instructor.
