Course objectives supported by learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to extend the student's knowledge of the course to a level corresponding to level B1 according to the Common Frame of Reference for Languages. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to understand the main ideas expressed in literary language on common topics encountered at work, school, leisure, etc. Understands the meaning of many radio and television programs related to current events or topics related to areas. his personal or professional interest, provided that they are expressed relatively slowly and clearly. Understands texts that contain vocabulary often used in everyday life or that relate to his work. Understands descriptions of events, feelings and wishes in a personal letter. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst traveling in an area where the language is spoken. Can engage in unprepared conversation on topics which are familiar to him, which he is interested in or which relate to everyday life (eg family, hobbies, work, travel and current events). He can combine phrases in a simple way to describe his experiences and events, his dreams, hopes and goals. Can briefly justify and explain his views and plans. Can tell a story or tell the content of a book or film and describe his / her reactions. Can write simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can write personal letters describing experiences and impressions.

Learning outcomes

Exam conditions

Full-time form of study:

Grading of the course both for full-time students: an exam during the semester, written test in the examination period. Successful graduates of the course have to get at least 70 points (from both parts together).

Continuous evaluation:

Semester test 30 %

Final test:

Final test using ROPOT in the IS (70 %)

Teacher's information

Lessons will be a combination of prerecorded videos and powerpoint presentations accessible in the IS during the semester (45 min) and online teaching (practising, reviewing, consultations - 45 min) via MS Teams, with both video and audio recording.

Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of ITB (Student attendance recording at ITB). Full-time students are obliged to attend at least 70 % of lectures and seminars.
