Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with legislation, basic concepts and sources of law, especially with a focus on corporate law. The course also deals with the position, legal proceedings and responsibilities of entrepreneurs, with special regard to forms of business and contract law. Students will get acquainted with the basics of corporate law, competition law, methods of resolving disputes between entrepreneurs, the basics of insolvency law and industrial property law. The graduate of the course masters the basic legal concepts and is able to design business contracts and is able to orientate in the activities of companies and cooperatives.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student:
- understands the concept, system and role of law and company law in practice,
- is able to independently and responsibly decide on legal issues of business and non-business practice,
- analyzes individual legal problems in their context,
- the solution to the problem includes consideration of the overall functioning of the legal system as well as ethical dimensions,
- clearly and convincingly communicates to experts and lay persons expert information on the nature of the legal case and its own opinion on it,
- uses professional legal knowledge in order to expand his / her other skills in business and non-business practice.

To successfully complete the course, it is necessary to achieve at least 70% of the final evaluation under the conditions set out below. In the final test, a total of 100 points can be obtained, ie 100%. Overall classification of the course, ie points for the final evaluation (100 - 0): A 100 - 90, B 89.99 - 84, C 83.99 - 77, D 76.99 - 73, E 72.99 - 70, FX 69.99 - 30, F 29.99 - 0.

Attendance at classes in all forms is governed by a separate internal standard of VŠTE (Records of student attendance at VŠTE). Attendance at lectures is not mandatory for full-time students. Students with an individual study plan will take only a 100-point final test in the examination period from the subject Fundamentals of Law. However, students are obliged to contact the teacher immediately after the approval of the individual study plan (ISP), if the student does not do so, his ISP will not be taken into account.
