Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of scientific scientific work and its application in the project concept. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to independently elaborate a project concept, create a case study with the support of newly acquired knowledge and practical experience drawn from primary and secondary sources, specify the research problem, formulate research questions and hypotheses in interaction with the main and particular objectives and project results, including a summary interpreted in the final project chapter, referring to employability, applicability in the field / sector / industry according to current trends, risks and milestones in the project, business strategies, competitiveness, sustainability and social utility and prestige with respect to potential the future of Industry 4.0.
Learning outcomes
1. independently proposes the goal and process of quantitative or qualitative research to support managerial decision-making 2. characterizes more advanced methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis of economic data 3. independently seeks, classifies, analyzes and critically interprets economic data and information from different perspectives (sources) including theoretical-methodological, ideological, value or other sources 4. Creatively address the theoretical or practical economic problem in interdisciplinary contexts 5. Apply more advanced scientific procedures and instrumentaria in solving practical and theoretical economic problems in order to obtain new original information 6. communicate, argue and negotiate effectively

  • 1. Concept of the final thesis project, selection of the topic final thesis 2. Analysis of data and information collection 3. Working with specific scientific literature 4. Determination and formulation of objectives, working hypotheses, research problem solving issues 5. Methods of solution - applicability in practice and field 6. Structure of the final thesis. Modification of the final thesis - page correction, breakdown of specialized texts, tables, graphs, etc. 7. Bibliographic quotes - links to quotes and resource lists 8. Evaluation of the final thesis and its defense 9. Presentation of the final thesis project at the seminar 10. - 11. Presentation of the theoretical-methodological part of the final thesis at the seminar/exercise 12. - 13. Presentation of the first version of the application part of the final thesis at the seminar/exercise

presentation of a case study in MS Power Point uploaded in the VSTE IS/homework vaults of a relevant teacher (seminar exam). 30 %
preparation of a case study uploaded in the VSTE IS/homework vaults of a relevant teacher (final exam). 70 %
Exam conditions
Number of SP (presentation): 15 - 20 SP (seminar exam).

Number of SP (case study): 25 - 30 SP including attachments (final exam).

Succesful completion of the subject (minimum score 70 points). Participation in teaching in all forms (full-time and at the work) is solved by a separate internal standard of ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). For students of full-time study form 70% attendance at seminars/exercises is obligatory.

Subject guarantor and lecturer (Dr. Vanickova) applies Case Study - Business Plan coaching approach, rhetorical skills, professional knowledge and practical experience applicable to the academic environment of a professionally oriented university. The syllabus of the subject is focused on seminars / exercises for the purpose of training, acquiring, deepening the knowledge and application of presentation, communication, assertive, business and negotiation skills, strategic and tactical in business and project management of business entities, especially regional and local ones.

The course guarantor and teacher supervise the fulfillment of assigned tasks at the relevant seminars / exercises during the semester and confront any possible shortcomings with students in the framework of expert consultations and managed discussions in order to improve the working procedures and regulations according to the time / quality of the professional work and the specific requirements of the project concept, including retrospective links / controls.
