Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the modern methods of production planning and management, from the perspective logistic support for production and assembly. Graduate of the course has knowledge about modern instruments used in companies - software products. He knows the basic techniques for the planning, management and assembly. He is able to describe and explain in detail the process from receipt of an order from a customer to the actual layout of the production in order to ensure the efficient production, with the support of appropriate methods and approaches.
Learning outcomes
After completing the subject, student will be able:
- to use modern methods of production planning and management in the process of logistics production and assembly assurance
- to describe and explain in detail the process from the receipt of the customer's order to the production layout in order to ensure efficient production by using appropriate methods and approaches
- to apply methods of process analysis when assessing the material flow of a company
- to propose measures to optimize processes in the company's logistics network
- to use software products to support dynamic production planning
Syllabus
  • Curriculum: 1. Production planning and management, in terms of globalization of markets, methods of operational planning of production. 2. Systems for production planning and management. The structure of the system for production planning and management, planning technique MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning/Material Requirements Planning). 3. Forecasting. Forecasting and production planning - direct and quantitative methods; how to implement forecasting in production. 4. Cumulative (aggregated) planning. Costs in the general planning; models, methods and disaggregate of aggregated production plan. 5. MRP - Material Reguirements Planning. MRP objectives and logic and determining the size of benefits. 6. Capacity planning. Capacities and capacity planning technique assessment. 7. Assembly planning. 8. Planning of human resources for production. 9. Workshop production management. The main roles and functions of workshop management, systems for workshop production management. 10. Scheduling of manufacturing operations. Targets, tasks and methods of scheduling of manufacturing operations, depending on the type of production. 11. Production batches. The procedures used in determining the size of production batches. The model for purchased items, EOQ, the model for manufactured parts, EMQ. 12. The simulation - a tool to support production planning and management. 13. System integration. System integration methods. The SAP, MIRACLE, MFG/PRO and JBA systems.
