Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is a general overview of measuring diagnostic methods, diagnostic signals, especially measuring methods in the field of acoustics. Emphasis is also placed on the most common current applications of technical practice.
Learning outcomes
The student has an overview of measuring diagnostic methods in the field of acoustics.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction. 2. Selected diagnostic methods: visual methods, capillary methods. 3. Selected diagnostic methods: magnetic methods, electromagnetic methods, infrared defectoscopy. 4. Analysis and processing of diagnostic signals: signals and their distribution, integral transformations. 5. autocorrelation, cross-correlation, spectral analysis. 6. Interpretation of diagnostic signals, application examples from technical practice. 7. Vibration diagnostics: laser and acoustic vibrometers, frequency analysis of vibrodiagnostic signal. 8. Vibration diagnostics: application examples from technical practice. 9. Noise diagnostics: wave and shock interference, microphone. 10. Noise diagnostics: sound level meter, application examples from technical practice. 11. Acoustic emission: discontinuous (impulse) acoustic emission and continuous acoustic emission. 12. Acoustic emission: application examples from technical practice. 13. Ultrasonic defectoscopy: ultrasonic probes, testing methods and application examples from technical practice.

Conditions for granting credit: participation in seminars; semester project - 30%. The exam has a written part: The written part verifies the student's ability to understand and apply basic theoretical knowledge of acoustic and diagnostic methods in technical practice; written exam 70%.
